Pregnancy Dreams

Pregnancy is a magical time filled with growth, love and magic, oh and Tom Cruise haunting dreams...

Well, I have had plenty of time to dream lately. I can barely stay awake with this pregnancy. My husband has given me a great excuse, I am "sleeping for 2." With all the time I have spent sleeping, I have been having really odd dreams.

Now, I know that no one really cares about your dreams, we all think our dreams are interesting to others, but really they are not. I am not going to let that stop me from sharing my strange dreams with you.

It all started about 6 weeks ago. I watched Rock of Ages with my husband and dozed off shortly after the movie had ended. I dreamed that Tom Cruise was actually the bad guy in the Scream movies and he was looking in my windows... little did I know that Tom Cruise, who I am not particularly fond of would become a common theme in my pregnancy dreams.

Nearly every night since then, Tom Cruise has had a villainous role in my dreams. Sometimes he is peeking in the windows of my house terrifying me. Some nights he tries to steal my baby. Some nights I have 1 baby, 2 babies, 3 babies, 4 babies (they just keep coming) and Tom Cruise is pretending to be my doctor so he can steal them from me. Really? What the heck?!

Other nights my doctor is actually not my doctor, but my son's wacky pediatrician, and I have to flee the doctor's office or the hospital in fear. Then I run into Tom Cruise and can't get away from him.

Some nights, Tom Cruise is dating my mother in law. Which part is scariest? Tom Cruise or my Mother in Law? I can't decide, they are both pretty frightening.

Did you have strange dreams while you were pregnant? Do you remember any of them? If so, please share!

Oh Baby!

I have been plagued with exhaustion. I wake up in the morning, only to need a little nap before my husband leaves for work. The reality of the busy day ahead of me has been forcing me to go back to sleep for as long as possible. I fantasize about napping. What in the world is going on with me?

For a few weeks I wondered... am I getting old? Do I have mono? Is there something wrong with me? Am I overdoing it?

Then the news came. No I don't have mono. I am not sick. I am pregnant!  The Sweet Silly Sara family is growing!

I love this pic of my Roo-Boo. His little face looks so plump!

The Path (Of Destruction)

Motherhood is an adventure to say the least.

The instinct of quiet= not good! was illustrated to me this week when my son discovered he is in fact tall enough to reach cookies on the counter, and he can dash right into his play room without Mama knowing what he is doing... if he is quiet. The smears of chocolate on his face, hands and shirt gave him away. When his Dad asked why he wasn't eating his dinner, my son and I shared a knowing look...

The idea that noise means your kids are not getting into trouble was a dispelled myth not long ago. My husband asked me why are there photos of an absolute mess on the computer? That reminded me of this day:

I took a few extra moments in the bathroom to try a new eye shadow. If I were to guess I would say I spent 6 minutes in the bathroom, with the door cracked, mind you. The normal sounds of play greeted my ears. Keep in mind, my kid is a rambunctious 2 year old.

When I returned from my eye shadow experience, the sight that greeted me first made me shake my head at the sight of the little play room.

Slightly messy, but not too bad! I can in fact leave my son to play for 5 minutes or even a little longer!!

Or Can I?
I gasped in horror as the tornado's destruction became apparent.

He literally just started dragging everything he could get his hands on out and on to the floor. It was crazy! Flashcards, my bra, trucks, old pillows from the closet, dinos... you name it. On my floors it could be found.

And it just kept going, the mess, the toys, the random household items.

In 6 minutes

This boy, who has the cutest little angel face, turned into the tornado and made a path of destruction that stretched from one end of the house to the other.

So, yeah... noise doesn't always equal normal play.

We spent the remainder of the day salvaging the house. Toys were put back into their places, random household stuff was tucked away for another rampage.

While I was cleaning, I moved the furniture around. The love seat was moved to the other side of the room as were other random things.

My husband came home and asked the question to make a stay at home Mom scream in anguish. "So, what did you do today?"

I said "I lounged by the pool."

He said "Oh, really? It is winter?"

I said "Oh, you know how it is. I had the time, and that always relaxes me."

My Wonderful Walls Review and Giveaway

I have been in a rut lately. I look around my house and think blah the same old same old. It would be fantastic to breath new life into the place without a time consuming redecorating spree. With the weather turning colder, my son and I play in his room many days. It is the smallest room in our home and it is always nice and toasty in there. While his little play room is adorable and attractively decorated I have often thought it  would be nice to add a little something to his room.

When My Wonderful Walls offered to send an item to review, I nearly jumped for joy! This is exactly what we needed!

I was impressed with their selection. They offer wall decals, stencils, kids wall murals, wall stickers and canvas art. While many of the available items were really too cute for words, I hesitated to invest a lot of my time in this project. We know we will need to move within  a year or so.

After spending about an hour browsing the site and leaning towards several different options, such as the Dinosaur Days Wall Mural Stencil Kit and the Dinosaur Wall Stickers I found the perfect addition to the                                                         decor in my little boys room.

The Significant Submarine Canvas Wall Art was perfect for my sons room. While it might not match his cars theme it added a touch of unique flair and the visual appeal of this work of art is undeniably strong. I love that it is personalized with his name and he can enjoy it for years to come, no matter where our journey of life takes us.

My husband I were both impressed with the quality of the canvas wall art. It is a nice touch for a child's room. I would love to invest in several other canvas works for my son in the future.

If you are looking for a great last minute gift idea, consider giving the gift of a unique bedroom or nursery. My Wonderful Walls offers an impressive line of nursery murals.

One lucky reader is going to win a $100 gift certificate for My Wonderful Walls.
This giveaway begins on 12/23 and ends on 12/31.

Wax Vac Review

When I heard about the wax vac I really wanted to try it.  I am always looking for a quick and effective way to keep my ears clean. I was thrilled when the opportunity presented itself. I had high hopes that this would be one of those products that would be used and loved by the family.

When it arrived I was ready to be the guinea pig. I knew my ears were a little waxy. I placed the bottle of mineral oil in very warm water for 6 minutes and then I placed several drops in my right ear. I got comfy and allowed the oil to remain in my ear for 6 minutes. I then used the Wax Vac as directed. I felt like nothing was happening. I followed the directions as best I could but this thing flat out didn't work. In fact, it did the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do. It made the ear wax issue worse.

I thought maybe it was a fluke. Maybe I didn't do it right. I tried again. Using the mineral oil, which was as warm as I could stand it to be, I allowed it to stay in the ear a little longer, I tried the Wax Vac again. Again I had no results. I had to use a q tip to  get the oil out of my ear. This made the wax impact into my ear. I went thru an entire process to remove the impacted wax in my ear after 2 uses with this ineffective product. I won't give you details on removing impacted wax as I am not a medical professional, however I will suggest you look this up on the Mayo Clinic site.

This led me to try another test. I took a tiny little sliver of notebook paper, you know the little stuff that comes off after tearing a piece of paper from a notebook? The Wax Vac didn't have the suction to lift a 1/4 inch of notebook paper. The paper didn't budge, not even a tiny bit. If this thing doesn't have the suction to life a sliver of notebook paper how in the world can it effectively suction and remove ear wax?!

I hate to write a negative review. I almost didn't write this one, but I have hopes that my brutally honest feedback can help make this product better. I feel that the idea behind the wax vac is fabulous but... the unit I was supplied with simply didn't have any suction to it.I honestly feel that this is a dangerous and ineffective product. The light has been handy however. It made a great impromptu flashlight during a power outage. Simply put, while the product idea is great, the product doesn't work as it is supposed to.
